# The Next Mission — launch setup

This project is a standalone static website and a small working browser-based reset planner. It does not depend on FitFuel or modify any existing app.

## Before you publish

1. **Branding:** Replace `assets/mark.svg` and `assets/next-mission-social.svg` if you have existing brand assets. The current identity is a starter concept.
2. **Interest form:** The site is configured to use `https://tally.so/r/OQDlBk`. The form currently asks for an email, two feedback answers, and an optional unchecked checkbox to opt in to updates. The site converts the `/r/` share URL to Tally’s `/embed/` URL and provides a direct-link fallback. Test a real submission in the Tally dashboard and confirm unchecked consent is not treated as permission to email updates.
3. **Privacy notice:** Review `privacy.html` against your actual practices. It includes the contact email supplied for the project and describes the current form setup, but you should still decide and follow a retention/deletion routine and verify whether your legal operator identity must be listed for the countries you serve.
4. **Offer readiness:** The $49 four-week pilot price is a hypothesis, not a validated price. Before taking money, confirm participant capacity, exact delivery, cancellation/refund terms, boundaries, dates, and how people can contact you. The website intentionally does not take payments.
5. **Positioning:** This is habit/accountability support, not therapy, medical care, or individualized clinical fitness/nutrition advice. Keep that distinction clear in all launch materials.
6. **Test the planner:** On the deployed site, test input persistence, check-ins, clear, and export. It uses browser local storage only; there are no accounts or cloud sync. Clearing browser storage can erase entries.
7. **Launch visuals:** Product Hunt's recommended thumbnail is square (around 240×240); use the provided `assets/mark.svg` as a concept or create a 240×240 PNG. For gallery images, capture the live website and planner at 1270×760; actual screenshots are more credible than mockups.

## Deploy for $0 upfront

### Netlify manual deploy
1. Keep `index.html`, `styles.css`, scripts, and assets together in this folder.
2. Create/sign in to Netlify and use its manual deploy flow to upload this folder (or a ZIP whose root contains `index.html`).
3. Netlify provides a `*.netlify.app` address; no custom domain is needed for validation.
4. Review current free-plan terms and limits: https://www.netlify.com/pricing/

### GitHub + Netlify
Upload the folder to a GitHub repository, import it in Netlify, use the repository root as the publish directory, and leave the build command blank. Future pushes can redeploy automatically.

Tally free-plan terms: https://tally.so/pricing/. Verify current limits and privacy terms before launch.

## Product Hunt readiness gate

Product Hunt's current guidance says it focuses on live digital products and that a landing page should lead to a clear next action. This project has a usable free planner, but the guided four-week service is still in development. It is more accurate to launch as a validation/beta experience than to claim the guided program is fully available. If you want to sell the guided pilot at launch, first finalize the service, availability, terms, and a working signup/payment path.
